This specimen was stolen at the Tucson Mineral Show in 2007.
(If anyone sees this Rhodochrosite, please let know. There is a reward!)
EXCEPTIONAL!! Very rare specimen of Rhodochrosite on drusy Quartz matrix!
These rhombs are so red that some may confuse them with Sweet Home Rhodochrosite!
This fine specimen is from the Grizzly Bear Mine in Ouray County, Colorado.
It
is the finest example of Rhodochrosite ON MATRIX that I have seen from this scarce
locality in many years. The rarity of a specimen of this quality from the Grizzly Bear cannot
be underestimated. I see more quality Rhodochrosites from the Sunnyside than I do from
here and the only locality that I've seen less matrix specimens from is the Climax Mine.
This piece is definately a major find for any Rhodochrosite or Colorado mineral collector.
It measures 9.5 cm by 8.7 cm with 3 cm rhombs! The specimen is labeled as circa 1969.
Price $12,500
MIN#R-1 NEW!
LARGE CABINET!! Stunning large plate of Rhodochrosite rhombs with Quartz, Pyrite, and Tetrahedrite!
I don't think I need to tell anyone how rare plates of this size are today. Just attend a mineral show and
the specimens you see can be counted on one hand. This plate is covered with gemmy red Rhodo crystals
and some associated minerals for contrast. The largest crystals are around 2 cm but most average 1.5 cm
in size. The plate is in excellent condition with only a few bumps here and there which I will mention for
accuracy. There are the normal incomplete crystals around the trim line of course and at about 2 o'clock
a rhomb has a small contact where it was touching matrix. None of these detract in the least from the
dazzle of this gorgeous red plate and aren't even noticeable without close inspection. This is the first large
plate I've offered in a couple of years and they go very fast. If you need one for your collection, here it is!
From the Millennium Pocket, Fluorite Raise, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Colorado.
Measures 12 cm by 14 cm in total size.

Price $45,000

MIN#R-2 SOLD!
Gorgeous, gemmy rhombs of Rhodochrosite with Apatite, Fluorite, Tetrahedrite and Quartz!
Specimens of this quality have become almost impossible to find at the shows. This is a
collection piece from that rare pocket find of gemmy Rhodo and light green Apatite crystals!
The Rhodochrosite crystals are transparent with glassy faces and that great Sweet Home color.
The purple zoned Fluorites add a nice touch to what is already a beautiful crystal plate.
From Steve's Pocket, Fluorite Raise, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Colorado.
Measures 6.5 cm by 8.4 cm in size.

Price $9500

MIN#R-4 NEW!
At first glace, this would be a great looking plate of Sweet Home Rhodochrosite!
It's actually a Chinese Rhodochrosite specimen however and the finds from there
continue to amaze as they get better and better. I wouldn't call them Sweet Home
quality but they are getting very close. These 1 cm rhombs are translucent with
the best color to yet appear from China. Also, the matrix is now a more sturdy
Quartz needle on Chalcedony in contrast to the slightly fragile Dolomitic matrix
of years past. This was one of the finest plates available at this year's show!
From Wuzhou, Guangxi Province of China.
Measures 6 cm by 10.4 cm in size.

Price $3500

MIN#R-5 Available!
Deep red Rhodochrosite rhomb perched atop blue and lavender Fluorite crystals in cluster!

Measures 5.1 cm by 4 cm in size.

Price $2250

MIN#R-6 NEW!

From the American Tunnel, Silverton, San Juan County, Colorado.
Measures 5 cm by 3.9 cm in size.

MIN#R-8 NEW!
RARE COMBO!! Lustrous crystals of Acanthite with Rhodochrosite, Dolomite, and Fluorite!
I think there were only two of these very rare combination specimens in Denver and this one
really stood out. The Rhodos aren't perfect and exhibit some stress fracturing but still provide
a beautiful backdrop for the clusters of stacked Acanthite crystals! The Acanthites cover the
surface well and the association between Rhodochrosite and Acanthite is always a great find!
From Wuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang A. R., China.
Measures 7.5 cm by 7 cm in size.

Price $3450

The matrix is Tetrahedrite, Pyrite and Quartz. An amazingly beautiful specimen from the Nate's
Pocket, Mini King Raise, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Colorado. Measures 6.2 cm by 10.4 cm.
In case you're wondering, the Fluorite near top center measures 2 cm and the Rhodo is 1.5 cm!
Price $2850

MIN#R-20 NEW!
Colorado Classic!! A superb specimen featuring a perfectly terminated Selenite crystal
partially embedded by two Rhodochrosite rhombs! The Rhodochrosite crystals measure
3 cm and 2.5 cm in size. Smaller pink rosettes of Rhodochrosite accent the surrounding
edges with some Siderite and Tetrahedrite. This incredible specimen is from the American
Tunnel in Silverton, San Juan County, Colorado! The American tunnel is famous because
local miners working the Sunnyside Mine accidently dug into the floor of nearby Lake Emma
back in 1978. The mine was completely flooded and never really recovered from this disaster.
Most higher quality specimens from the American Tunnel are now found in private collections.
This beauty measures 6.5 by 6.5 cm in size.

EXCEPTIONAL!! Museum quality specimen featuring a gorgeous deep pink Morganite crystal
set against a background of Albite and Quartz points! Also with green Tourmaline, I would rate
this large cabinet piece as the second best Morganite specimen I've offered on the website.
The 7 cm Morganite crystal is incredibly gemmy with Albite accents. The white blades set
against the vibrant pink surfaces create one of the more beautiful contrasts I've seen in a
Beryl specimen. The Quartz crystals are included with white sprays and enhibit glassy faces!
From Nuristan, Laghman Province, Afghanistan.

Incredible sprays of Proustite with Acanthite and Native Silver on Calcite crystals!
This classic old museum piece dates back to the 1850's and is quite simply the finest
specimen of German Proustite on matrix that I've ever seen or owned! The Proustite
has been well protected and still has considerable redness in the crystals. The addition
of Acanthite and Native Silver wires makes the piece extraordinary. Even the matrix
is composed of sharp, well formed and stacked Calcite crystals! From the Himmelfurst
Mine, Freiberg District, Erzgeberg, Saxony, Germany. Measures 8.5 cm by 7 cm in size.
Comes with a custom made, labeled stand.

"The Brazilian Setting Sun"
A gorgeous, museum quality Beryl var. Morganite crystal sitting atop white Cleavelandite with Schorl!
This is the finest Brazilian Morganite I have ever seen perched on matrix! The crystal is absolute perfection,
measuring 8.5 cm in size! I liken this beautiful specimen to a sunset behind snow covered mountain peaks.
With its matrix of Cleavelandite and Shorl accenting, the specimen measures 15 cm by 12.5 cm in size.
From Conselheiro Pena, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The perfect companion to the Afghanistan Morganite above!

Comes with a custom made, labeled stand.

Price $32,500

MIN#EM-6 NEW!
Gemmy, blue cluster of near flawless Beryl var. Aquamarine crystals with Muscovite!

MUSEUM QUALITY PLATE!! Tremendous, large cabinet plate of super lustrous Sphalerite "flowers"
with Barite clusters on Dolomitic matrix! This is the finest Elmwood Sphalerite specimen I have ever
seen or offered on the website. Usually these large plates of Sphalerite are either dull or damaged
but this specimen is the exception. It is as close to perfect as you can find with superb aesthetics.
From the Elmwood Mine in Smith County, Tennessee.
Measures 24 cm by 33 cm in size with a 9.5 cm Sphalerite cluster at top left!

Price $12,500

MIN#EM-12 NEW!
EXCEPTIONAL!! Breathtaking specimen of bright yellow Gold on Quartz matrix!
Definately the best Australian matrix Gold at the Tucson Show. If there was a better one,
I didn't see it. This dramatic specimen comes from the Idaho Pit, KCGM, Kalgoorlic-Boulder,
in Western Australia. The color of the Gold is what grabs you at first glance. The incredible
purity of the metal gives off the most stunning yellow you could possibly imagine. There is
obviously very little Copper or Silver in the mix. Add to that the fact that this specimen is
crystalline with many rounded Gold crystals and is on matrix (rare for this locality), one
can easily see just how awesome this specimen really is. The aesthetics are also quite
noticeable in the photograph above. Measures 7.8 cm by 4.5 cm by 4.8 cm in size.
Comes with a custom made, labeled stand.

EXCEPTIONAL GERMAN SILVER!
It all starts with the nearly 1 cm thick wires at center which are framed by thinner wires on the top
and exterior. These wires of Native Silver curl and curve their way to a height of 12.7 cm! Shorter
wires are present at bottom and these curl inwards and outwards, accenting the entire base and
trunk of the tree. Also, the entire specimen is covered with the most beautiful antiquish patina which
actually becomes iridescent in places. A very fine specimen that is second only to the Freilich piece.
From Freiberg, Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany.
Measures 12.7 cm by 6 cm in total size.

WOW! Possibly the FINEST Proustite to yet appear from Morocco!
Proustite from Morocco usually appears as small, isolated crystals with decent red
color on matrix. I've never seen anything that comes close to the size and color of
these large clusters! The specimen is fairly heavy with large crystal balls of Proustite all
over the matrix - both front and back. One day there may be better specimens found
but right now, this is one of the finest you'll see anywhere. That I can guarantee you.

Dramatic specimen of Native Silver Wires on Acanthite coated matrix!

Absolutely stunning! Bold crystals of Acanthite sitting atop golden Chalcopyrite ps. after Polybasite!
The contrast of Silver on "gold" is incredible!!! I haven't seen many of these combos and this one is
by far the finest with the sharpest crystals. Add to this the fact that the Chalcopyrite is pseudomophing
(with some help from the smaller Acanthites) Polybasite crystals and you have one incredible specimen!

MUSEUM QUALITY!!
A tremendous specimen of Native Wire Silver atop fine Acanthite crystals!
This specimen dates back to the mid 1800's and is one of the finest and most impressive
German Silvers you will ever see. A thick twirling rope extends upwards some 7 cm on the
left and is balanced on the right by a thinner 7+ cm wire. Between the two are dozens of
smaller wires which curl and form a nest atop the slightly iridescent Acanthite crystal
covered matrix. This specimen is a true prize for any Silver or worldwide mineral collector!

EXCEPTIONAL SILVER!! Thick, twirling wires of Silver atop Sulfide matrix with Quartz!
This is the rarest Silver that I own! This incredibly aesthetic specimen is from the old Silver
mines of California Gulch, Leadville, Lake County, Colorado! It measures 5 cm by 5.7 in
total size. The town of Leadville was actually built on Silver and Gold ore but in later days
became known for its Lead and Molybdenite. This specimen originates from the late 1800's
when Silver mining was all the rage. An amazing old timer that is as beautiful as it is historical.

From my personal Silver Collection!
Very rare combination of Native Silver crystals on olive-green Chlorargyrite crystals!
Both sit atop a matrix of Limonite. This is the only specimen of this combination that I've
ever seen and I know them to be extremely rare. The flash and aesthetics of this specimen
are spectacular but when you look at the surface using a 10X glass, you literally see
hundreds of fine Silver crystals mixed with thin Silver wires atop very sharp, translucent
green crystals of Chlorargyite! The specimen is a Silver collector's dream! It comes from
the Broken Hill Mine in New South Wales, Australia. Measures 5.2 cm by 7.5 cm in size.
I've had many Silver specimens in my collection and this one easily ranks among the finest.

AMAZING old Mexican classic featuring twirling wires of Native Silver atop Acanthite crystals!
This specimen is from the old workings in Batopilas, Chihuahua, Mexico dating back to the
early 1900's and is worlds different than the more recent etched from Calcite Silvers from the
same locality. The additional of the well formed gray Acanthite crystals is an added bonus!
The entire specimen sits atop a small bit of Quartz matrix. Measures 4.7 cm by 6 cm in size.

INCREDIBLE AND RARE!! A tremendous specimen of Native Wire Silver on massive Acanthite!
This was one of only two specimens that appeared at the Denver Mineral Show and I grabbed it
immediately. The story behind this 10 cm tall wire-rope is pretty amazing but from what I understand,
a small find of wire Silver was found in the late 1970's at the Dukat mine which is mainly known for its
massive Acanthite ore. One of the miners, at some risk to himself at the time, saved a few specimens
and put them into storage for posterity. The specimens were later sold and the two that I saw in
Denver were possibly the two finest of the small number hoarded some three decades ago. I can
honestly say I've never seen any others and only know of one other which is currently owned by
a dealer friend of mine (we split the find). I was struck by the grace and luster of this specimen
as well as the matrix (which I ALWAYS prefer with Silvers). Definately a unique opportunity!
Circa about 27 years ago (1979ish)

RARE COMBO!! Lustrous crystals of Acanthite with Rhodochrosite, Dolomite, and Fluorite!
I think there were only two of these very rare combination specimens in Denver and this one
really stood out. The Rhodos aren't perfect and exhibit some stress fracturing but still provide
a beautiful backdrop for the clusters of stacked Acanthite crystals! The Acanthites cover the
surface well and the association between Rhodochrosite and Acanthite is always a great find!

The largest crystal in the middle measures 1.8 cm in length! The remainder of this very rich
Silver Sulfide is covered with smaller Acanthites and patches of iridescent Chalcopyrite.
From the Eldorado Mine, Port Radium, Mackenzie District, Northwest Territories, Canada.
(This locality was discovered in 1900 and mined as a source of Silver and Radium in the 1930's.
It was dewatered in 1976 and mined again for its Silver and Copper reserves before closing for
good in 1982. The mine and its settlement were destroyed by fire and no longer exist today.)

flattened by the now removed matrix, the top crystals are complete with full glassy faces!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Incredible specimen of Polybasite, Chalcopyrite, Acanthite, and Quartz!
I was amazed when I saw this specimen! What you have here are Polybasite blades in
cluster which have been completely covered by golden Chalcopyrite crystals. Then, at various
points atop the Chalcopyrite coating, you have a secondary growth of Acanthite crystals
(cubes) always seem to be surrounded by a ring of iridescence. All of this is happening atop a
cluster of slightly amethystine Quartz. This is one of the wildest Silvers specimens I've ever owned.

From the old mining town of Calico, San Bernardino County, California.
Calico was established in the 1880's as a Silver mining town and at its height
had over 500 mines. When the price of Silver declined in the 1890's, the town
began to suffer and lose population. When the Borax operation shut down in
1907, the desert town was completely abandoned and became a true ghost
town. Today, the town has been preserved and made into a tourist park.
Specimens from Calico are very rare and this is the first I have offered!
Measures 5.4 cm by 6.5 cm in size.

MIN#G-1 NEW!
Superbly crystallized specimen of Native Gold with Arsenopyrite rising up above matrix!
The crystallization is sharp and distinct, with dozens of lustrous Gold crystals in cluster.
This is one of the few affordable examples of crystallized Gold you'll find from the Mockingbird.
Gold of this sort is extremely difficult to photograph and the specimen is even better in person!
From the Mockingbird Mine, Maripose County, California.
Measures 6.5 cm by 3.7 cm in size.

VERY RARE!! Native Gold sitting atop Malachite matrix!
This is the first Gold specimen I've seen from Zaire and I doubt I'll see another anytime soon.

MIN#G-3 NEW!
Weighs 150 grams.

Price $10,500

MIN#G-4 NEW!
Interesting specimen of crystalline Native Gold in Quartz!
Judging from the rounded edges, this specimen appears to have placer roots.
The middle, however, has well formed Gold crystals as can be seen with the
trigon in the center. If one were to pick away the remaining Quartz matrix
it would probably expose addition crystals. There's plenty of Gold beneath.
From Bootjack, Mariposa County, California.
Measures 3.4 cm by 2.6 cm and weighs 16.3 grams.
Price $650

MIN#G-5 NEW!
EXCEPTIONAL and RARE! Super lustrous Native Gold with Petzite on pink Granite!
Without a doubt, the finest specimen I've seen from this now closed and very short lived
mine!
From the Nugget Pond Gold Mine, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Very few
quality specimens made it out from this locality and specimens of this quality can probably
be counted on one hand. The black mineral on the right side is Petzite and this is a fairly
scarce Telluride mineral (
Ag3AuTe2
). Measures 8 cm by 7 cm by 5 cm in total size.
Price $24,500

HEAVY semi-crystalline Gold Nugget!
With the price of Gold soaring, what could be more appropriate than a large Gold Nugget?
This is a very aesthetic nugget with lots of air and space near the center. This not only
makes the specimen more attractive than a solid, lumpy nugget, but it also allowed for
the growth of Gold crystals like the one just south of center in the above close-up photo.
The edges are larger, rounded crystals which nicely frame the more intricate center.
Gold nuggets are found out in the open field using a tractor to dig up the soil, followed by
miners with metal detectors. No doubt this nugget gave one heck of a signal when discovered.
From the fields near Wychitella, north of Wedderburn, Central Victoria, Australia.
Measures 11 cm by 7.5 cm by 4.5 cm in size. Weighs 27.5 ounces or 855.25 grams of 23k Gold.

Rich specimen of crystalline Native Gold in Quartz matrix!
From the Black Hills of South Dakota - most likely near the Lead area but I can't confirm this.
Measures 9.5 cm by 5.7 cm in size with well defined crystals of gold (flattened and unflattened)
Price $1950

MIN#G-18 NEW!
EXCEPTIONAL! Large crystals of Native Gold on Quartz!
This specimen is incredible! The hoppered Gold crystal in the above photo measures
1.5 cm in size and sits atop a cluster of Gold crystals which rise 4 cm above the Quartz
matrix! The cluster also extends nearly 5 cm towards the back of the specimen. In the
close-up photo, you can see the internal structure of the main crystal. It appears to
be filled by a series of horizontal spinels with dodecahedrals around the periphery.
Specimens from the Mockingbird Mine have sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars
recently at the shows. Here's a very fine specimen with a large crystal at a better price!
From the Mockingbird Mine, Mariposa County, California.
Measures 7.4 cm by 4.3 cm by 6 cm in size.

Price $25,000

Realgar on matrix
Shimen (Jiepiayu) Mine
Hunan, China
9.5x7 CM (cabinet)
price: $900
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

Fantastic gem red glass like and sharp realgars that really glow! This piece has far superior quality to any of the recent Romanian material. From a small find in late 2006, you can see through every crystal here. There is are some areas of chipping that is noticable however the overall impact is so strong that it can be forgiven. The price is however adjusted substantially for this damage.

Fluorite (included by Boulangerite) with quartz
stock #7 AE-437
Yaogangxian Tungsten Mine, Yizhang County,
Hunan, China
7.8x4.6 CM (cabinet)
price: $800
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

This is just a killer small cabinet of included fluorite pearched esthetically on a spray of quartz. The main 3.7 CM cube is clear flourite colored to a dark blue-purple by thousands of metallic needles some of which reach the surface. The front of the fluorite is pristine but it is contacted in the back.. There are 2 small broken quartz xls (not very easilly noticed) which can be trimmed off but I like it as is since these act as a stand for the piece. This is an exceptional piece of this minerological oddity from Yaoganxian!

Scheelite
stock #7 AE-424
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Huya
Sichuan, China
10x6.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

Way better than most, this is a glassy, lustrous and sharp chain of gemmy Scheelites (largest is 4.6 CM) That really glows with any backlighting. Lots of gemmy areas with all of the display side and most of the back damage free. Displays well from several angles. Formerly in the Mike Walter collection.

Bournonite with Fluorite
stock #7 AE-442
Yaogangxian Tungsten Mine, Yizhang County,
Hunan, China
5x3.2 CM (miniature)
price: $650
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

An exceptionally large metallic crystal, sharp, lusterous and with fine termination. As a bonus it is sprinkled with lotss of small light violet fluorites for an extra sparkle. In very good condition overall though there are some small spots of damage that are very forgivable in a crystal of this size and can be minimized with careful display. This is FAR better than average and really shines!

Euclase
stock #8.1-219
Piaotang, Dayu
Yunnan, China
4.5x3.9 CM (miniature)
price: $600
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

Sharp and glassy Euclase on matrix to 1.4 CM. A great example from this small one time find. These were the best Chinese examples of this rare Berylium gem mineral. The crystals have some micro cavities on a few faces with unknown black materials inside. Good condition in general, there are broken and damaged crystals on the edges and back the display side looks fine to the unaided eye.

Cassiterite (gemmy)
stock #8.1-176
Amo Mine, Ximeng
Yunnan, China
5x3.6 CM (miniature)
price: $775
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

A superb miniature gemmy cassiterite with sharp glassy luster crystals to 2.2 CM. These have become very hard to find (and expensive) since the main find of 2003-4. I think the quality of the best examples from Ximeng are possibly the worlds best for the specie. On this piece the transparent crystals here have smokey phantoms and show colors like yellow, orange, white and brown as well as the usual black. There is some very tiny damage to a few edges (and the backside attachment point) but it is not be visible if oriented well in a display. One of the very best examples of this new classic I have seen available and at a very attractive price.

Cassiterite
stock #7 AE-398
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Huya
Sichuan, China
6.4 x 5.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $700
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

Super lustrous with classic form, a very attractive cluster of crystals in a multiply twinned structure. Displays well from many angles the only notable damage is the backside atachment point and a few tiny spots of edge chipping that are not easily visible from most normal angles af view. These Pingwu area cassiterites are among the worlds best, with the mines closed now it is very hard to find good quality, the prices too have increased radically . This piece represents a very good value, with top notch shining black luster

Pyromorphite
stock #7 AE-587
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guanxi, China
11.3 x 8.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $3750
Fine Chinese minerals: diverse mix, June 1, 2008

A large, fine Pyromorphite from the 2000-2001 discoveries at Daoping, now recognized as one of the best finds in the world. The recent finds have not had the same color or stature of the best of the early materials which are now classics and richly priced when available. This pice is all pyromorphite, there is no matrix, the front is densely packed with radiating crystal clusters with individuals to just over 1 CM. Very close examination shows a few small spots with chipping on crystals, this is really minor and not seen in casual inspection but it keeps the price of this from being over 10K. Great display piece with a good 3 dimensional presentation.

Pyromorphite
stock #7 AE-036
Daoping Lead-Zinc Mine, Yangshao
Guanxi, China
8.9 x 7.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $750
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

From the great Daoping finds (now classic) of 2000-2001 this is a sizable rich green pyro. Overall in very good condition by naked eye I find one tiny crystal chip that is not distracting, a few others are noted under magnification. Individual crystals to 8MM but most are about 5mm, this also has the good 3 dimentional display that many of these lack. These pyromorphites are considered some of the worlds best and the prices are already rising quickly. Compare with the few available on the web, this is above average color, size and a nice quality for a resonable price.

Kesterite with Mushingtonite on Quartz, Muscovite etc.
stock #7 AE-403
Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu, Huya
Sichuan, China
10.7x8.9CM (cabinet)
price: $800
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

A thin concave plate of matrix typical of the Xuebaoding deposits that has crystals of most of the known minerals from here (Aquamarines, Scheelites, Cassiterites, Quartz, Muscovite etc). However, these are just the background for dozens of fine, sharp Kesterites coated by the equaly rare Mushingtonite. This is unquestionably the worlds best locality for these uncommon minerals, and these are excellent examples. Individual crystals reach about 1 CM though most are smaller. Clusters to about 3CM show the many forms and complex twinning well. A great combination piece this would usualy be trimmed into many fine thumbnails and miniatures but we chose to offer it as a rarely seen larger display specimen.

Fluorite - Gemmy Cubooctahedral
stock #7 AE-422
Xianghuapu Mine, Linwu, Chenzhou District
Hunan, China
12.7 X 8.8 CM (cabinet)
price: $650
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

Glass clear cluster of mint green modified cubes in supurb condition. The outer edges and back show the areas where it was removed, otherwise it is in perfect condition. The largest cube is 6 CM. This piece can be displayed in several different orientations. This is one of the better quality material to come from Hsinghuapu, and not to be confused with the more common materials seen in many wholesale lots. This locale continues to be one of the worlds best Fluorite mines, producing a qulity rarely seen at any other source. As the mine is prolific now the prices are very reasonable for this high quality. When the suply ends (as it will since no deposit is infinite) , these will be instant classics and far more expensive. Real pretty green glass!

Manganocalcite with selective Pyrite inclusions
stock #7 AE-480
Henyang prefecture
Hunan, China
13.5 x 9.4 CM (cabinet)
price: $700
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

A rose formed of pink Calcite (vivid FL) that has the outer edge rims and some faces enclosing brilliant golden pyrite, that is seen thru the clear crystal. The esthetic impact is excellent and the condition of this piece is top notch, the area of the edges and base where it has removed is cleaved but the rest of the piece is quite clean except for a few tiny nicks that can be only be found with magnification. These do not affect the display and the quality is as good as I have seen. From a one time find in 2005, we had obtained this in a small lot which sold off very quickly, this one has returned to us and we are happy to have it to offer now as we have not been able to get more. If you like calcites or have aChinese suite this is a very good item to add!

Azurite
stock #7 AE -531
Shuli Mine, Yangchun County,
Guangdong, China
6.3 x 5.6 CM (small cabinet/ large miniature)
price: $550
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

A well crystallized rosette in pristine condition from the finds of the late 1990's at the Shuli mine. Composed of bundled, radiating crystals up to 1.6 CM long this displays very well. Later materials are less well defined, and these are becoming Chinese classics.

Barite on Quartz
stock #7 AE-520
Jinkouhe town, Ebian
Sichuan, China
16.5 x 11 CM (cabinet)
price: $675
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

Most of the Barite that has come from Jinkouhe (which was a very prolific locality until 2006) is damaged and colored white which does not contrast from the quartz matrix. This is a sizable, fine esthetic piece with a cream yellow tone to the barites whiche are undamaged. Crystals to 3.8 CM are scattered on a clear quartz matrix. Some are actually penetrated by the quartz prisms. Showy, and exceptional for this locality.

Ferberite with Arsenopyrite and Quartz
stock #7AE-429
Yaogangxian Tungsten Mine, Yizhang County,
Hunan, China
8.8 x 5.3 CM (cabinet)
price: $1250
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

A large ferberite crystal that is perfect is very rare. Usually there are cleaved edges or damaged, incomplete terminations. With the addition of a nice arsenopyrite crystal at the base and contrasting muscovite this is an unusually fine specimen. The main crystal is fully perfect as is all others but one of the smaller crystals. That crystal is on the back side, with a cleave on one edge but is not visible from the display sides. Great luster, stands unaided and with a very attractive price for a far above normal piece.

Rhodochrosite with quartz
stock #8.1-042
Wuzhou Prefecture, Guanxi Province
Guanxi, China
6.6x6.5 CM (cabinet)
price: $1700
A fresh Chinese update: New and Classic, June 25, 2008

A very fine Chinese rhodo, from the recent (2007) pocket at Wuzhou, these were the best found in the past 7 years of mining. The style and look are easily confused with some Sweethome material. Great color and esthetics with the largest Rhomb 2.2 CM. Typical of this mine there are micro xls of fluorite and acanthite as well as eye visible pyrites, but the real reason to display this is the Rhodochrosite. Overall in fine shape no noticable damage, we have noticed that the red color is more intense under some types of lighting. This is a fraction of the price that a comparable Colorado piece would go for!
